1890s

The Flame Ignites! Before making closures, PHOENIX got it's start making glass jars and band caps.

1905

Glass bottle production ends to focus on hermetic closures.

1922

Continuous thread cap is developed by Phoenix-Hermetic Co.

1932

Phoenix-Hermetic changes name to Phoenix Metal Cap Co.

1939

Phoenix adds molded caps to it's production line

1959

Phoenix Metal Cap installs first plastic injection molding machine

1965

Phoenix Metal Cap opens a plant exclusively for the production of plastic closures.

1980

Phoenix Metal Cap becomes Phoenix Closures, Inc.

2000s

Several new facilities are opened across the Midwest.

2022

PHOENIX moves corporate headquarters to Aurora, IL and opens a new plant in Bloomington, IN
